Over 50 teams took part and although it’s called a golf tournament, the day isn’t about golf. The event raises money for the support of Alice Springs area breast cancer patients, the day is really about women letting their hair down and having a GOOD time.
Everybody really gets in the spirit with team names, costumes and even decorated carts. Every hole had some sort of contest and or sponsored food and cocktails. We were treated to things like steak sandwiches, chocolate fountain, cosmopolitan martinis and champagne. I think we spent more time eating and drinking than hitting golf balls!
Our team had a split personality. Two of our team members are serious girly girls and two of us are country girls at heart. So we played off that theme for our team name; we called ourselves "Titties from the City and Boobies from the Bush". Wipe that “Oh Dear” look off your American face. We were by-far one of the more tame teams for name and costume.
I told you!
I won’t share too many details, let’s just say a good time was had by all and Dave picked up us at the end of the day and got everyone home safely!

Paula,
I really think I need to move Down Under. I sounds like my salty sense of humor and mind in the gutter wouldn't get me in nearly as much trouble there. I keep saying that people need to lighten up! Raising money for breast cancer in Peoria involves walking one or three miles (usually on a cold morning in the rain). Golfing with food, cocktails and team spirit sounds MUCH better!

I have to agree. I certainly believe that the US need to lighten up a bit. To much stress not enough fun.

Anita - You'd fit in nicely here! It's refreshing to not always be the most "saltiest" person in the group.
Some of the teams and costumes to the golf tournament made me cringe and I'm not easy to shock.
It's all about the cause, and we all know someone who has been effected. Looks like it was a lot of fun as well.
Graham.
