When Paula has time on her hands

My latest culinary adventure is brewing limoncello. What’s that you ask? Limoncello is the generic name for an Italian citrus-based lemon liqueur that is served well chilled in the summer months. You have to love a recipe that starts with the peels of 15 lemons and 2 bottles (750 ml) of 100 proof vodka! You soak that for 2 weeks then add a simple sugar and water syrup. It than sits in a cool dark place for a month or so and presto! You have a yummy lemon liqueur. It’s delightful served ice cold by the shot or makes a lovely addition to desserts, drizzled of ice cream or maybe even added to champagne. It should be ready by Thanksgiving!
